HB Training has been delivering high quality training to construction apprentices since 1976 and is part of Construction Learning World. We work with hundreds of young people each year and have 11 training centres situated nationwide and in Scotland.

HB Training in England
More recent developments have seen HB Training in England becoming involved in initiatives looking at qualifying the existing construction workforce. HB Training have supported over 4000 adult workers to achieve a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in construction at a ranges of levels including 2, 3, and 4. This shows an achievement rate in excess of 90%. The qualification, along with our Health & Safety qualification programmes, enable individuals to join the industry recognised Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
In addition to the CSCS scheme, the Company also administers a network of training providers who deliver a number of qualifications that lead to the membership of the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS). Hence, HB Training provide you with a "one-stop-shop"; your complete training solution to a qualified workforce.

HB Training in Scotland
In Scotland the company also focuses on the creation of opportunities for young people and adults with programmes such as Mainstream Skillseekers, Get Ready for Work and On Site Assessment & Training (OSAT). We have also developed customised training for employers and private industry, and created innovative programmes for use in partnership with local schools.
In addition to training young people, we have established a Managed Training Division which has successfully delivered over 25,000 Roads & Street-work qualifications over the past twelve years; both operative and supervisor qualifications. This Division continues to develop bespoke training for construction companies.
We can provide training in:
Health & Safety, Plant & Machinery, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, Small Power Tool training and many more. The training offered all complies with Continual Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.
About Construction Learning World (CLW)
In 2008, Construction Learning World (CLW) acquired HB Training, enabling CLW to extend its services by delivering apprenticeships to both young people and adults entering the construction industry, as well as up-skilling adults who have been working in the industry for a number of years. This objective mirrors the government’s strategy to support apprenticeships and also meets Construction Skills’ objectives to substantially increase the number of new trainees who are needed to enter the industry over the coming years.
CLW is the largest provider of on site construction related National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in the UK. We work nationwide, on more than 1,500 construction sites at any one time and we assist over 8,000 people per year to achieve an NVQ. Our team work closely with construction operatives, supervisors and managers to provide On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) in order to deliver a complete range of construction related NVQs at Level 2 and 3.
CLW’s mission is to consistently support the goals of our clients and become the provider of choice for quality training and professional development in the UK construction industry.
We aim to develop the talents of individuals working in the construction industry to enable them to realise their potential through structured vocational courses (NVQs) and other programmes designed to up-skill the UK workforce.
In 2008, CLW was amongst the first training organisations to achieve the Training Quality Standard with Excellence in Construction, recognising our commitment to the high quality delivery of training and assessment.
